Though they often take cues from traditional categories such as basketball and skateboarding, Alexander Wang's Adidas collabs are anything but ordinary. The designer continually pushes the envelope, and his latest Three Stripes offering is a strong contender for his most experimental yet.
Releasing as part of the third drop from the Alexander Wang x Adidas Originals Season 3 collection is the Turnout Trainer. The new model combines a nylon and suede upper with a foam tongue and several quirky details including bar code labels and upside down tongue tags. Product specs fill are printed on the nylon toe, which is especially noticeable on the “Light Brown” colorway.
Also of note is the sneaker's mash-up sole, which blends a forefoot reminiscent of retro Adidas hoops shoes with a heel more in line with Wang's previous work with the Three Stripes.
The Turnout Trainer will arrive in “Light Brown” and “Core Black” alongside the rest of drop three of Alexander Wang x Adidas Originals Season 3 on Saturday, July 23 from Adidas Originals and Alexander Wang flagship stores, select retailers, and online. Retail pricing on the shoes is $250.
