After originally releasing on Yeezy Supply in December 2017 as a pre-order (with the caveat of having to drop a few extra hundred dollars on some Yeezy threads in order to purchase a pair), it appears that the “Super Moon Yellow” Adidas Yeezy 500 is returning this summer.
According to Yeezy Mafia, the “Super Moon Yellow” colorway of Kanye's chunky silhouette is expected to drop on June 9 via adidas.com, Adidas Confirmed, and other select Yeezy stockists. This Yeezy 500 boasts a tonal mesh and suede upper and sits atop the midsole tooling first used on the former-signature model of Kobe Bryant, the KB8 3.
This will be the second global release for the Yeezy 500 model, following the recent “Blush” drop. A “Utility Black” colorway is also expected to drop some time in the next few months. Ye also recently teased some sample colorways of the model on Twitter during a recent spree of tweets that may or not may not be making their way to retailers in the future.
UPDATE (05/25): As expected, this Yeezy 500 (officially dubbed “Supermoon Yellow”) is set to release Saturday, June 9. Adidas confirmed the date today, adding that the shoes will be available from adidas.com/yeezy and select Adidas Originals retailers.
With a retail price of $200, this is the first opportunity people will have to pick up the sneakers without purchasing a costly bundle of apparel.
UPDATE (06/01): Signups for the “Supermoon Yellow” Yeezy 500 are now open for New York City via the Adidas Confirmed app. Entires will be accepted through 12 p.m. ET on Wednesday June 6, and reservations will go out later that day.
