For its next release, the Nike Kobe A.D. travels back to the state in which Kobe Bryant pieced together his legendary playing career, but to a different city.
This curious colorway of the latest Kobe sneaker arrives in white, with a paisley-like print raised off the textile upper. Grey Swooshes cut in along the sides, while marble graphics wrap around the counter. Multi-color detailing fills logos on the tongues and heels and 'City of Compton' insoles line the interior.
While the concept behind the design hasn't been revealed by Nike, the early word is that the colorway is tied to NBA All-Star DeMar DeRozan, who has acted as the Kobe A.D. lead with Bryant retired. DeRozan was born and raised in Compton.
